Steak And Onions wins Wexford's opener
Wexford winner for two-horse trainer
unfortunately my father couldn't be here this evening but it's great that he won and he is owned by my wife Stephanie. You have to hand it to Jody, she got him jumping fantastically and it's great to get a win with him. He had a good run last time and we were hopeful today. Our other horse Lady Lingo unfortunately got injured early on this year and we put her in foal. We had a great summer last year with her and if this fella can replace her it will be alright.
McGivern bags third winner in four days
'Summer horses' fly the flag for retiring Tyner
we are not finished yet and have a few in for the summer so we will keep going. She (Nelly's Money) is consistent and seems to love that ground. We will either look for something similar or we might go back over hurdles. We wanted to get today over with first. She is tough and jumped very well, . Ambrose gave her a great ride and her owner Anthony (McCarthy) is away on holidays.
Call Me Lyreen completes Elliott's double
it was very straightforward, we went no gallop early and his jumping was sticky, because we were hacking, I let him roll on. I ended up having to make my own running and he popped away lovely. I hadn't ridden him before but Jack (Kennedy) won on him the last day and gave me a good advice. He did it well and hopefully can go forward again in novice company. He might get further in time, but 2m4f at the moment is lovely for him and he has great form over two miles as well.
Smithers enjoys beginner's luck at the last
we were fortunate, but we'll take it when we get it. That was his first handicap and it's great for Peter to ride his first winner. He is with me everyday, is a hard worker and the lads were good enough to give him the opportunity. We will keep him going during the summer over three miles, he is what he is.
