Face Value leaves flat form behind
was a bit keen and got tired. On the other hand Face Value got stronger as the race developed and he chased down Hollymount King to score by two lengths in the end under Davy Condon.
Very easy for Sword Of Destiny
I shouldn't have run him at Fairyhouse (171 days ago at the Festival). Firstly the ground was too quick and secondly he was very immature. He could be anything . I know it wasn't a great race but he couldn't have done it any better. He jumps great and goes on the ground. He stays well too. He was ready to run but he wasn't over-fit and he'll go for a winners race now. Two and a half miles would be a minimum for him.
Jacksonslady tip-top in Grabel Mares Hurdle
That's great, she's a decent filly. She missed the first but maybe the ground was the cause of that as she is a super jumper normally. Barry was happy enough to let her pop around. We might leave her off until the spring now. She is not EBF eligible. She's a mare that's kept improving.
Compo for Wither Hills
When he lost the race in Roscommon I thought it was 50/50 and I still think the best horse won. It's good for the owners to get that win . last time at Listowel the ground was a bit too dead for him. We've retrieved a few quid now and that keeps everyone happy. We might look at running him over fences but the ground will probably go against him from here on. He just about gets two miles and he needs decent ground.
Great start over fences for On The Way Out
That's a nice start. He was always a class horse but he went up too quick in the handicap over hurdles. Hopefully there won't be a repeat. He jumped well and to do that around here is not that easy. He did a little bit of schooling last year before he was let off. We'll take it step by step with him now.
Burnt Oil Babe does enough at Punchestown
She's a good mare. We've no plans now, we'll stay going as we can. There might be a nice race in her somewhere. She was well-handicapped today which helped. It was hard luck on Barry Cash as he couldn't do the weight on her. Two miles up to three miles, it doesn't seem to bother the mare. However today's two and a half could be what suits her best. Hopefully she might make up into a Paddy Power Chase mare.
