Local legend Plough Boy wins on first run at Laytown
he's knows the place well as he's down here quite often. We thought six furlongs might just stretch him but had the advantage of knowing the beach so well. We said we'd let him bowl along today, he knows the place well, he's a legend of a horse and that's 14 times he's won now. Everything is so easy for him, no matter what you do with him he takes it in his stride. It's great for the lads who are great owners. There is a race in Dundalk for him in two weeks time. We usually give him a break when he peters out a bit. Those races aren't hard on him, six furlongs sure I'd do that myself!

Furtado & Malune complete quick double with Ottoman
said Malune. I rode both of them back home in England and they did quite well up the gallop which is a similar surface, a fast track. He said to me that they both should have a very good chance. I came up, walked the track this morning and I've enjoyed it. He ran up and down in the straight, when he was in the ridge he came off the bridle with me. He's the kind of horse that you have to let him stride on, you can't take him back or send him forward, you let him do his thing. He was on top from two out and he hosed up really.
McGuinness records 1-2-3 in Laytown handicap
we had been running him over a 1m2f and 1m4f and I never thought he had the pace here to take on my two sprinters (over today's 7f) but it's a funny game that he would come and do it. He jumped out, made it and stayed going so I'm delighted. I thought the other horse was going to go by him two down but he stuck at it well. They are two great riders (O'Hare and Barry O'Neill on the runner-up) and they stuck at it brilliant.
