German import Poseidon quick to make an impression at Dundalk
Hayes delight at riding a winner in the Barry silks
She had a very good first run and for different reasons it just didn't click for her,. She was just not right on one or two of the days. I was very unlucky here from a wide draw the last day. I went for a gap and it shut in my face. I thought I would have put it up to the winner that day and gave a good performance. I looked after her and we had this race picked out, thankfully she's gone and done it. It means a lot to ride a winner in these colours because as everyone knows Frank Barry was Kevin's right-hand man at the sales and they bought many good horses together.
Super sub Sheehy wins for patient owner on Let Me Pass
He had some decent runs and he seemed to be handling the dig in the ground well so I wasn't certain about him going on the surface,. He was in such good form we said we'd give him a try on it and he handled it really well. I thought he would need the 7lb off him. Adam was to ride him but unfortunately got a bad dose of the flu so he missed out but Mikey did very well on him. He kept it simple and did well from his wide draw to get a good position on him. I'm delighted for the owner (Nasir Askar) who has been patient with his horses. He might keep on the go here as he's in great form and handled that really well. We'll see what he's like when we get him home.

101/1 double at Dundalk for Halford
She had a lovely first run in Limerick but then she ran disappointing. I didn't know why and then I ran her back again to find out and she ran disappointing again,. We just took our time with her and gave her a chance to mature a bit. She's after strengthening up a bit and I thought with her rating she might find it easier in a nursery rather than a maiden. I feel sorry for Adam, who has the flu, and is after missing two winners. Conor did very well. He was signed on to us as a young lad and rode a lot of winners for us. I told him 'you have a bad draw, take her back, drop her in and ride her to get lucky'. It worked out lovely. I'm delighted for Pioneer Racing, that's the first horse we have for them, and a good owner of ours Nicky Hartery bred her so it's a good win all around.
