That was great to get it and while it wasn't the strongest of contests, he deserved a win. He had schooled plenty and ran in a schooling race last winter so that experience stood to him. He should win a handicap from his flat rating of 74 and I think that might be the way to ride him on the flat too. He's big enough to jump a fence in time too.

We got her palate done after her run at Roscommon (in June) and while she found the track too tight at Ballinrobe, then the ground opened up for her at Bellewstown the last day which didn't suit.

She was very green the whole way and pricked her ears when she got to the front. I think there's a lot of improvement in her and I think a cut would suit her better. A lot of credit must go to my mother (Jackie) who bred from the mare and has now bred four horses which have now all won. Also Mark Fahey is in hospital at the moment and he broke her so thanks Mark for that!
