Condon comes in for winning spare on Pint
he's a grand big old staying horse, jumps well and will get a break for six weeks now. He will stay jumping hurdles this year but wouldn't want it as quick as that and hopefully is ok in the morning.
Cordelia scores for De Bromhead/Lynch
I'm delighted to get the win as she looked a little unlucky at Wexford and is a half sister to Moscow Mannon and will now be a lovely mare to breed from for the Flanagans (owners). She came back with a nasty cut the last day and we had to get it fixed up but she has been working really well and did that really well today.
Barcoe's Allez Vic scores third win
he was good and tough and won off his highest rating of 109 now and is progressing away. He won well the last day too and seems to go on any ground. I thought Brian was good on him: he jumps better with a horse upsides him and Brian waited a bit, which was a good idea, to go for the stick just before the last.
All-the-way win for Balloo
that was fantastic! He has been hard to settle and Noel gave him a great ride today. He jumped away and has caught on to the jumping end of things. We took him to Ayr when the ground was very sticky but he did that nicely and we're well pleased. There's a nice handicap at Ayr on June 8 for him and that's the plan and we'll keep motoring while the ground is good.
Wachman on the mark in Fairyhouse chase
it's great for the lads (Mount Temple Two Racign Syndicate) as they've had horses with me for a long time and they enjoy it. Whenever you get a winner you enjoy it, but I don't enjoy this NH weather (raining) though!. We'll play it by ear and see how he comes out of it.
There's no Knockin' Arrigan, despite the slip!
Knockanarrigan is a lovely horse and, given the way he jumps, that's his game more than hurdling. He did everything right but ran a bit free today; if he settled he'd have done it better.
Plain sailing for 'jolly' in Fairyhouse finale
he had a little issue at Easter but had a great run first time out. Things just weren't right last time out but he came home and turned inside out. That was very impressive and we were hoping that would happen. I'll talk to Eddie (O'Leary, racing manager of Gigginstown House Stud) but he's a nice horse going forward. He wants nice ground but maybe not as quick as that today.
