Reserve Carlingford takes his chance
He ran a lovely race on his debut and it brought him on a good bit. Hopefully we will find something for him now before long. He is by the right stallion and it's a pity he is gone (King's Theatre, who died just last month).
Safari is on the Up
He is a grand horse and Tramore didn't suit him the last time. I know he won there but he wasn't that impressive. He did it well today, to pull back the leader (Jacksonslady) and he battled on well. He wouldn't want the ground any worse than that, but he wouldn't want it like a road either. He will go for a Novice Hurdle next at Galway.
Ruby & Royal rout rivals
That was grand, he done what was expected. Once the second favourite (Granaruid) didn't operate on the ground, it turned out to be a one horse race. He won a point-to-point, so two and a half to three miles is his trip. It was great for Barry (Owner, Barry Connell), he was owed that.
Regal takes the feature for Swan & Hogan
He needed every bit of the three miles. He stays really well and he jumps great. Its grand to get it for the father-in-law (winning owner, Timmy Hyde), it will keep him off my back for a while!. I have two runners tonight and they are both No 13, so hopefully it will be lucky for me. I'm not sure where he will go next, but it will be over three miles. He will jump a fence in time.
Banna Man shows age is just a number
The handicapper shouldn't crucify him for that.
Thirteenth time lucky for gambled on Bound
It was a funny, moderate sort of race. We were thinking earlier on that it was a pity we weren't in the other division, but it worked out well in the end. We will try and find something similar for him now. He is a horse that minds himself.
Doctors combine for Kiely's double
She was a little bit unlucky at Tipperary as she met with a bit of traffic. That run brought her on a nice bit. Jennifer (Pugh) did what she was told and she is something to looks forward too.
Finnegan the star of Roscommon finale
That was great. Michael has been riding out for us for a long time, everyday. He is 54 or 55. He had a ride in the Charity race at Punchestown last year, but it was not so nice for him!. I kept making him believe he could do it and he did and it's a great feat! . He only bought the horse during the week and its only his fourth ever ride including the Charity race last year. He will probably go to Galway now for the winners bumper on the last day of the Festival.
