Bellagio proves tough in Gowran opener
It was a good performance and he had to be brave. He has a terrible draw but it helped that the favourite got stuck in the stalls, fair play to Colin and the horse they took advantage of that. He's still a green horse and will improved from it. He was in front a long way from home and it was a fair performance. He wouldn't ideally like that ground, it went a bit slow, and we were a bit nervous before the race with the heavy showers yesterday and today. He's a good ground horse but because it was the first race we said we'd take our chance and got away with it.

Holly Golightly wins on first crack at turf
That's a great result. She'll get further and Gary said she's still very green so there is improvement to come from her mentally. At the top there, where its always the deepest, she flattened out on him so she'll improve for better ground as well. She's very green and baulked at the road past the winning post. Trevor (Stewart, owner) has been with us for years, he bred her and Cassandra Go was a very good horse so she's all about pedigree. After winning there now, she's an exciting prospect.
McCullagh overcomes a scare on Celtic Crown
I actually didn't know what had happened until he told me afterwards. I wasn't sure what was happening as he was bouncing in a funny sort of a way!. We're very happy with that. We were a little bit concerned about the rain beforehand, and it getting softer, but she seemed to handle it okay and stuck at it. She won last year on nicer ground so she's probably fairly versatile. We'll look for something similar again.
Bell Ex One survives stewards' enquiry after lengthy battle
With a bit of luck he'll keep it. He's a lazy, leery horse and Andy (Slattery) said he was on and off the bridle, he does nothing. I can't wait to get him over a hurdle, I think that's where his future is. He could make a smashing hurdler, he's schooled already and he loves it. He's basically not a Flat horse. He'll be a fun horse and off his mark hopefully he can win again. He loves that ground and he's very versatile as he seems to handle any ground. He's run well on quick ground as well.
Pineapple Express seals double for jockey Slattery
We were probably a bit unlucky in the first two races (with Sunwalk and Aingeal Dorcha who were both second) ,. The handicapper was right. He gave her 10lb and I rushed her and ran her back too quickly in Dundalk. He forced my hand that day but she's won with the 10lb today. I think she's better with a bit of ease in the ground and I see no reason why I can't step her up in class now, even to a mile-and-a-half. She's an improving filly.
