Greatest Drama makes Gowran breakthrough
she worked well during the week, so we thought coming here she had a chance. She was after having a good run against the colts and that looked a very good race, so we were coming here with a bit of confidence. Ben said she’s still a bit green, is still learning on the job and hopefully there is a bit more to come. I’ll have a chat with the owners and she should be able to do one more this year. It was a good battle to the line, and she should have learned plenty today. I’m delighted for the owners who have supported us over the last couple of years.
Monumental gets off the mark on third attempt
he did it nicely from the draw (wide in 9) and Wayne gave him a lovely ride and tracked the pace. He’d a good run the last day at the Curragh and the form has worked out well. Wayne thought that seven furlongs trip suits him well as he has plenty of pace and can travel off a good speed. He’s got a host of options now and is definitely a Stakes horse in the making. Maybe something like the Flying Scotsman at Doncaster or he could wait for the Legacy at Dundalk.
Marakesh scores on debut for Ebor winners
Vivienda scores second handicap success for Lyons and Keane
she is after thriving since she won, she’s grown and really turned into a lovely filly. Colin is adamant that stepping up a furlong would suit her even better and she’ll go on quicker ground, albeit that’s beautiful ground out there. Hopefully that will help her get into a big handicap on Champions Weekend. Also a big shout out to Lucy who led her up, rides her out every day and keeps a smile on her face.
Murtagh and Coen complete Gowran doubles
she likes it here but she’s been running in handicaps and it’s been tough going for her. This looked a winnable race if she ran to her form and Ben said she travelled very well and quickened up well. She came here to be claimed and has won two races for us now. She looked impressive there today and I’m sure somebody will take a chance.
Kinda Tiny scores for Doyle and Hassett
from now onwards I hope will be her time, as an ease in the ground suits her and the rain that came was a help. She won on heavy at Galway last year and is best with a cut in the ground. She’s a lovely honest filly. There is not much of her and that’s why she has her name but she’s all heart. Wayne thinks there might be another one in her and there might be a race for her in Listowel.
September success for Harrington's filly
she’s been threatening on her last couple of runs and it’s nice for her to get her head in front again. She’s in the new (HKJC World Pool Autumn) Fillies Handicap on Champions Weekend off bottom weight and even with a penalty there will possibly need a few to come out in order to get in. It would be nice if she did get in there as she loves fast ground and Leopardstown.
