Mollies lands a gamble in Ballinrobe opener
I was trying to get her in to the 0-65, the second race today, but she was eighth on the ballot and wasn't getting a run. I was kicking myself when I saw the two non-runners. She was in wrong there today but she's a very honest little filly and she's improving. She stays going, she's not fast, and I thought she might get outpaced early on but obviously the slower ground helped her. Hopefully, if she's not claimed, she should win another handicap, provided the handicapper doesn't slaughter her. Hopefully he won't as these claimers can end up like this. You see odds-on shots and favourites get beat in them, even when they are way in right they still get beat. Thankfully I was on the right side of it this time as I've got two beat in claimers in the last couple of weeks!. The owner Rob Morris has a bar on the Thames in London. It's the first horse he's ever had with me. He's originally from Dublin and he wanted to have a horse in Ireland for his dad.
Greenpanda makes all under McDonogh
She has loads of ability but she's just a little bit of a madam. She did have blinkers on her for one run last year but she wasn't 100 percent. It was just at the end of the season and I saved them again for today. In fairness to Colm O'Donoghue he said to come here put blinkers on her and bounce her out. She has piles of ability and loved it around there today. We might get to Galway with her yet. She'll possibly go to Bellewstown but the boys would all love to go to Galway. I bought her back at the sales (E2,500 Goffs February Mixed Sale) and I had no owners for her but I got a phone call five minutes later. The boys offered to buy her and leave her with me. Troy Cullen heads the syndicate (the Poetry In Motion Syndicate) with his brother Joey and the whole family are involved. It's worked out great for everyone.
Palmones a welcome winner for Flannery
I was nearly giving this game up and she's my only horse in training at the moment. It's a long time since I've had a winner (May 2012) but I've had hardly no runners. I've no horses, the horses we are buying we just aren't able to compete to be honest. I'll enjoy this because it might be a while again! It's brilliant, especially here in Ballinrobe. She had a lot of issues and it was a case of trying to find those things. She was bought for small money, E6,500, and you don't buy them for that money unless they have a few issues. It's great. You couldn't put it together if you tried to. He gave her a great ride. He put her to sleep and then she got home.
Dee gets off the mark after making all

Deserved win for Beauty in Ballinrobe feature
It's nice to get it and it's a nice prize. She always promised to get it right and she got it right today. She's not a bad filly in her own right. She travelled the whole way and it worked out well. She stays well. She might go to Bellewstown. There is a mile-and-six there and she might run in it. We'll see what the handicapper does. It was 15 grand and that's the most important thing. It's for a very important owner (his wife, Mary Rogers)!
Mardan just prevails under Madden
She's game. I thought she didn't get it and it was only a whisker. There is a two-mile race for her in Galway and hopefully we get a drop of rain. We were lucky to get it here. Tom gave her a hell of a ride.
