Deejay off the mark in opener
I'm delighted with that. He's improving nicely and try and find a winners hurdle for him over Christmas,.
Enterprise looks name to note
Light left clear after run-in drama
He's just taken a long time to come right. He was hobdayed before he ever ran and had another wind op in the spring,. It's taken him a while to organise his breathing and Robbie said he was glad that the wind was on his back and not in his face as that would effect one with a wind problem. We'll head to a winners race with him now rather than a handicap as he needs to learn a bit more. He's a real chaser in the making. He's had a lot of problems though and very nearly went to the sales, he was entered twice.
Best gains due reward
I'm delighted for the horse. He was entered for Doncaster last month after a couple of disappointing runs on the Flat,. He had a slight infection though the day before and was taken out with a vets cert. I said to (owner) Mr Cosgrove that he would win over hurdles if we just had a bit of patience and he won well today. I was a bit worried about the 7lb he picked up between his two runs at Punchestown. I thought that could be his undoing. They went no gallop at Punchestown last time and he pulled too hard. Now that he's got his head in front he might win another one. I'm lucky enough to have had a couple of good horses for Mr (Frank) Cosgrove. This horse will go chasing and I've no doubt he'll make a nice chaser. He'll run again over hurdles at Christmas. Probably either Down Royal or Limerick.
Bach bumper success completes Mullins treble
He could go for a winners bumper or we could go jumping with him,. He's a staying chaser in the making and looks a fair beast.
