Charm takes Limerick opener in style
He did it nicely and we always thought he was a right nice horse,. He was getting tapped for toe in his bumpers but is such a slick jumper and the conditions of the race were ideal for him. His jumping kept him in the race and he never had to get after him too much. . I was concerned about the ground but he seemed to get through it ok. It wasn't a fantastic race but he is a nice horse to go forward with although he is more a spring type on better ground so I won't be too hard on him at the minute. Hugh got a spare ride for me at Down Royal recently and I liked the way he rode then and he was the obvious go-to man today. That's his first winner for me and he is a young fellow coming on.

Blanket lands nice touch on first start for McCarthy
She had a lovely run behind Our Roxanne on heavy ground at Gowran last year and John Joe (Walsh, her previous trainer) had a great job done with her,. She idled and had a look at the last but I wasn't too worried. . These are lovely races for these kind of horses and she looks to be a lovely filly and we're delighted with her. John Leahy, from Listowel, owns her and it's his first horse with us so hopefully he'll be lucky.
McCarthy & Brouder double up with another gamble
She is a lovely filly, is impeccably bred but was babyish and took time to come to hand. We made too much use of her in Fairyhouse the last day,. She was first reserve and I got a phone call at 7.45am so I was delighted. . That's my first double and I neither had one riding or training before. We have 23 riding out and have never been as busy; we've always room for nice horses.
Nest knuckles down to open account
Storm strikes over hurdles
He had a low mark over hurdles and I felt when he was rising ten that it was time to use it rather than sickening him as he isn't good enough for Open point to points anymore. He has been a brilliant horse for me but isn't getting any faster and it's nice to get another win. We'll fool away and won't abuse him.
