Well-supported Cove strikes in opener
Billie blasts away his rivals
He's a grand wee horse. He's always there or thereabouts and has been running well all year. He's been beaten a head and a short-head a few times,. It was quite simple today. He was drawn one, bounced out and did it well. All the owner (Breen White from Castleblayney Co Monaghan) has wanted all year is a winner at Listowel so he made sure he was here today.
Hassah looks smart as Deegan saddles 1-2
People thought I was losing my marbles running her at the Curragh but it was too bad to be true and she barely broke out of a canter,. I think it was a case of stage-fright although the cheekpieces certainly helped today. She's a very smart filly but she's very much on the leg. The progeny generally progress really well and we'll see how she is after a few weeks but it's possible she may not run again this year.
Roche judges it well on Pass
She's a hardy little filly, very honest, and gives everything every time. Fair play to Leigh as he had his homework done. He said to me that Pat will go on and I'll just sit on his girth. A lot of the horses here have been winning from the front or near the pace and that's the place to be. I'm delighted for the owners Pat and Betty Cosgrove, who have been with me from the very start. They bred her as well so it's great.
Hurricane a Kerry specialist
He's won three at Killarney and I thought he was a bit of a course specialist but he loved it here today,. He likes small fields. He's not that big but for a small horse he has lots of scope and jumps brilliantly. He stays two-and-a-half miles well and should get three miles eventually. The (Lakeside Racing) syndicate are from Blessington and they're very lucky.
Orgilgo too strong for Lartigue rivals
It's a good pot to win. He's a very good horse to win off top-weight and be able to gallop away and win like that,. He ran third in Cheltenham then won in Downpatrick and was just touched off in Galway after making a lot of the running. This has been the plan for a long-time, especially when he didn't get in to the Galway Hurdle.
