Carberry wins opener at Listowel
We bought him in France earlier in the year and then gelded him and left him off so he has had an easy time of it. Paul said they went a bit quick on the ground and he didn't jump as well as he did in Killarney but that was probably down to the heavy ground. There is not really a whole lot for him between now and November but at least we know he goes on the heavy ground.
Cawley and Nolan inform at Listowel
He won his bumper on testing ground last Christmas but didn't jump great on the better ground earlier in the year. We were going to run him over a longer trip later this week but decided it was best to start him over 2 miles on his first run back so it wouldn't be too hard on him. I hope he'll improve from that and he should make a nice chaser. He jumps fences better than he does hurdles and he's for sale.
Sesenta impresses at Listowel
I will probably run her on the flat next maybe in The November Handicap at Leopardstown. The Cesarewitch at The Curragh may come a bit too soon as that race probably took a lot out of her. She's very small at 15.2 and she's probably weighted out over hurdles now.
Swan and Casey seen to good effect
He was second in this race last year and has gone close good few times but is as genuine as they come. We probably won't see the best of him till he goes over 2 ¿ to 3 miles. We'll go chasing with him now I've schooled him myself and he jumps well.
Walsh records double
We gave her a long break after Leopardstown at Christmas. We gave her a run at Cork a couple of weeks ago and she came on a lot from it. We'll probably go back to Cheltenham in November for the Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
Leahy and Roche team up
I only have her about 7 or 8 weeks and she is a nice mare and will be even nicer given a bit more time.
