Notebook shows his class in Punchestown opener
Glory for Fruits as he ends long losing streak
We're delighted with that. We've waited a long time for him to put his nose in front,. He had run 40 times up to today and only put his nose in front once before. He was one of those horses that was on a yellow card a few times!. He ran very well in Sligo and was unlucky. I stepped him up two furlongs today and I was concerned about it because I've never run him over this trip before but he handled it very well. I'm more than surprised because normally you are disappointed when you step them up. He did it well, he made a few blunders on the way but survived them and that's half the battle. That gives us a few options and there might be another one in him somewhere along the line. I wouldn't even mind stepping him up another bit (in trip). I've a few nice horses and they all seem in good form so roll on the winter.
Wave battles back to complete double for Slevin
Market gets it wrong as Beach beats Bothar
We knew he'd come on a good bit from it. They went very quick in front and set it up for him really,. If he rode him again he'd be holding on to him a bit longer, he nearly went to the front then too soon. The horse had a good blow, he's only four and he's a nice horse. He's grown a lot from last year and if you look at him he looks like a big chaser. I don't know where we'll go now with him. He'll win races.
Double for Blackmore as Sixshooter maintains unbeaten record
It was very pleasing and she (Rachael Blackmore) said he was awful green. She said it was hard to believe he had won two bumpers because he's so green,. She said when he really learns how to do it he'll be quite good. Everything the mare (Lobinstown Girl) has produced has won. I suppose we'll be going for a novice hurdle over two-and-a-quarter or two-and-a-half miles. I'll have to see where he slots in. It's nice that he kept his unbeaten record in tact and it would be nice if he could do that again. Obviously we're hoping he'll be real good but we'll have to see. He wasn't drilled for that and I expect him to improve a good bit. I don't think soft ground will bother him, his wind is good and he's pretty straight-forward. I wouldn't be afraid of going to two miles either, I think he has the pace, but I'm happy enough to stay at two-and-a-half with him at the moment. I think the three miles race can empty them out and he's only four.
Quinlan & Doyle combine for Premier success
He's been knocking on the door and that was a very winnable race I thought,. He did it better than I thought and Liam said he had plenty left and every time someone was getting to him he pulled out plenty. I think the big track suited him well. He ran well in Downpatrick and Clonmel but I think the more galloping track suited. He'll get three miles and he'll jump a fence so we should have a few more days out of this lad. He won't go on real winter ground but anything a little bit worse than that ground today and he'd be grand. He won a point-to-point and was unlucky not to win another one so he'll be a lovely horse for a fence.
Elliott doubles-up with Larquebuse
She's a nice big mare and in fairness she's probably never had the ground soft enough or a trip far enough,. She's stronger this year. We'll rock on over jumps now, I'd imagine, straight away. She'll win plenty of races and she's a nice mare.
