Darver Star cuts a dash on chasing debut
McParlans record impressive win with Deadheat
That was brilliant. He stayed on real well in the straight. They crawled the first mile and there wasn’t much pace on but he did his job well. We take one day at a time and we’ll see what’s there for him in three or four weeks’ time.
Quilixios blistering on Irish debut
He’s a big laid-back horse and is having a good blow after the race. I’d imagine he’ll go next to either Down Royal or Wetherby which are on the same day (October 31). He’s a big galloper and will jump a fence in time.
Sixshooter fires in another for Meade and Flanagan
He’s been very slow maturing and hopefully will keep improving. He actually grew since last spring and is still quite young so I presume he will stay over hurdles. His jumping was poor last year and he had a problem with ulcers.

Blackmore brings up double on Midland Millie
I bought her and Fag An Bealach as foals from William Flood on the same day about six years ago and they have both now won in the space of a few days. She’s a nice mare and will pay her way through the winter. She’s owned by the nicest man in the world, Mr Trappe. He’s so genuine and I trained a winner for him in Thurles about ten years ago which is the only other winner that he’s had. He gets so much pleasure out of it. Rachael rode out for us when she was at college in Dublin for a couple of winters and I’ve always wanted her to ride a winner for us. I have ten in training at the moment but they are a nice bunch and all seem healthy and well.
In-form Meade lands double via Mare Quimby
I think we’ll try another bumper with her if the owners agree. She’s bred by Ken Parkhill and his son has the syndicate. The Listed mares’ bumper in Navan could be a likely target for her. She’s been working well and was showing us plenty in the spring. You would have to like the way she won that as she was awful green.
