War Correspondent wins on hurdling debut
We're thrilled. Rachael said he must have some engine given how keen he was. They went no gallop and his jumping is very novicey for his first run and she said she had to help him a lot, but he only really missed one. She said he can only improve, she thought after a couple of hurdles he was just too keen. All that will come to him, he's just a big raw baby. The plan in the back of my head, if he won today, was to go to either Fairyhouse or Cheltenham for the November meeting. I'll see what Belinda, the owner, wants to do but he won't run before then. I won this last year with Bell Ex One and he was meant to go to Cheltenham, but got ring-worm. This lad might go there.
One Last Tango shows his fast feet in Punchestown
I'm delighted to get it as it's just taken a while for the penny to drop with him,. To be honest, it's a bit of a relief that he's stuck his head in front. Hopefully, he can go on from this, he'll get a bit further. He wouldn't want it too heavy so if the ground stays okay we might get something else and then head to Leopardstown at Christmas. We've been getting nice ground there for the past few years so if we get that type of ground there might be something there for him. We'll try and find something in between.
Darver Star seals hurdle hat-trick in good style
Cool Survivor one for the punters
He gallops and Jack said he wants three miles. He'll probably come on for the run too,. We're having a bit of a run of seconds and a bit of bad luck today, but sure that's the way it goes.
Gaius fends off the favourite in Punchestown
Byrnes at double on Grozni
He was good today, he got him to relax. He pulled too hard in Listowel and couldn't breathe properly. He settled today and his breathing was okay. Philip had a double in Ballinrobe when he was just after turning professional and he got injured then after that. We'll look for something similar over three miles, whatever pops up. He made one or two mistakes early on, and I was a bit concerned but he got him jumping then. It's a good day at the office.
Mullins eyes Listed race for newcomer Williamstowndancer
I was very impressed with that. She doesn't do anything very fast at home but she's always there at the end of her work and she showed the same today. I thought she was going to be swallowed up two-and-a-half furlongs down but she just kept going and the further she went the better she kept going. I think I'm going to have a crack at one of those Listed mares' bumpers. We might give her a little break now and come back and have a go at one of those.
