Sivola makes big impression on Irish debut
He's a real workmanlike horse. He jumped nicely,. He's always shown that he's a strong sort and he'll improve away. He always shows at home that he has plenty left in the tank. He had a fairly hard race today so we might skip Christmas with him and see where we go after that.
Publican powers to hurdle success
She'll go to Limerick next. She stays well and jumps well,.
Butler pounces late on Lanna
We had her leased out to a syndicate in Burkes Pub but we had kind of given up on her,. We knew she had ability as she won a bumper (for Conor O'Dwyer) but she fell once (at Killarney in July) and it went a bit pear shaped afterwards. She was in the yard and is a grand quiet mare so we decided to run her in a charity race. She was ridden by a Guard, Richard Cullen, who rides out in the yard and she ran a cracker in that so we gave her a second chance. It's a bit of a shock to win today. She is owned now by my wife Bernadette and that's her first winner over jumps.
Mountain off the mark over fences
Bar the mistake two out he seemed to take to jumping fences well,. He'll probably stay at that trip and we'll try and find a winners race for him. We'll see how he comes out this before deciding where he goes next.
Garde completes treble for Mullins and Walsh
He looks a natural chaser and he'll get three miles,. We'll aim him at the top staying novice chases now. His pedigree suggested he would love that ground but I'd say he'll handle good ground in the spring as well.
Walsh shines on Senior
I have to put a lot of it down to the great ride he got from Mark,. They went very fast out in front and Mark just sat out the back on him. He hadn't a whole lot left at the end but thankfully he held on and it's nice to get the prize.
Inish battles to gutsy bumper success
That was a slog! I never saw two horses finish so slow,. We'll go back hurdling with him now. He ran well on his first start over hurdles and his second run was probably even better. It was a hell of a good race that So Young won. He might go to Leopardstown over Christmas or could run on New Year's Day. He's owned by the Flanagan family from Kildare who also had Grangeclare Gold and Grangeclare Lark with me.
