Teo's Sister makes winning debut
Small little things, never anything major, have held her back. She even had footballer type problems like hamstrings. I never had one as unlucky as her.
Glory for Forever
She just crept home. He (Fran Berry) was nursing her and she wasn't enjoying the quick ground. We will wait with her now for softer ground and she will go over a mile and a half or a mile and three. Softer ground is her forte.
Dawariya wins again for Oxx & Murtagh
We got away with it as we were a bit worried about the ground. She is a big filly but she seemed to handle it. She looked high enough in the ratings but she came on a bit from her last run and the small field here helped.
Akasaka goes one place better a week on
He is named after a Japanese restaurant and thank God he won't be ending up in one, as he has a bit of ability!. We needed that as we have had a lot of second's and third's recently. The horses have being running well but we have had around three times more second and third's than winners.
Double for Oxx & Murtagh as Saddler's scores
He won well enough. I hate winning small runner handicaps well, as you get pasted by the handicapper for only beating a few horses. He is stepping along nicely and he liked the trip. For a Sadler's Wells he does very well on the fast ground. He would prefer it on the slow side of good but not heavy. He might be a horse for the Cesarewitch but the handicapper will hardly be to easy on him. Out of the five horse I have here tonight he is the only one I would have run with the ground like that. I kept them in with the 15 millimetres of rain forecast, but it never seems to come at Leopardstown.
Formal wins as Gold falters
The cheekpieces worked. He probably wants further and I put them on him to sharpen him up. He travelled well throughout the race but he got caught a bit flat footed, he stayed on well though. We will look for something similar now or he might go back hurdling as he jumps well. He didn't like Kilbeggan (made his hurdling debut there) as he is a big galloping horse and he needs a galloping track.
Calima completes treble for Oxx & Murtagh
He got there, just about. He is still a bit raw. He would probably like a cut in the ground but he got away with it. He needs to improve but he will have learned a bit from that. He is still inexperienced and he'll come on from that. I'd be in no rush to run him on that ground again.
