Chief calls the tune for the locals
I'm delighted for Pakie who is like my principal owner Tom Quinn . very loyal . a solid Galway man who leaves me alone to get on with things.
Alelchi remains unbeaten over fences
He was very good and it was lovely to see him jump very economically. It was great to see him do that around Galway with a view to future years though he's not likely to have a nice handicap mark after that. Having said that he's built to carry weight and though opportunities might be harder to find now we'll keep him to the Festivals . Killarney and Listowel. Good ground is good for him.
Hasanour comes good for Halford
It all worked out well as it opened up nicely for him. It's been a nightmare week for us until this but this horse is settling better and has plenty of pace. He can step back up in trip again and he'd get another furlong.
Dalkova the queen of the Corrib
It's hard work being a trainer and the winners are not as plentiful and they don't come as often. Andrew (Tinkler, winning owner) has always had great faith in this filly and today here I really fancied her. I knew she'd get up the hill really well and she's very tough and game . a typical Galileo. Seven furlongs or a mile is her trip and she'll be stepped up to Group 3 company now,.
Stream finds full flow
He missed the second last and done the same at the last. It was unfortunate for Dessie's horse (Icy Reply) that she veered a little to the left but in fairness to my fella he stuck at it well to get there in the last fifty yards. He's a good stayer and he'll probably jump a fence (a point-to-point winner in the past). (TW & EM)
Thomas delivers big prize a year on
Ridestan is back to go a place better
Farmer well prepared by Shark
He fought back well. I'll have to speak to the Mees (Clondaw Farmer is owned by Mrs Annette Mee) but he might come back here for a winners bumper in September. This fella is a chaser but he'll jump hurdles first.
