Promise gets going late to score on debut
They are nice fillies and she (Promise To Be True) is very well bred. Seamus gave her a lovely ride, was kind on her and she will have learned a lot. She wasn't named in time and that's why she hasn't any big entries. Her name wasn't through in time to enter for the Moyglare but she'll step into something like the Debutante now. We liked the second going to Naas but she pulled a shoe and we think that is what happened to her. She came forward lovely from that race so we were very happy with that run too.
Gordon back on track with Tipperary win
That is a bit of a relief because he has always been a very hard horse to train at this time of year as he suffers from allergies related to pollens. I was very disappointing at Leopardstown the last day but he showed up with an allergy type of mucus. Physically he is as well as ever and hopefully things will improve for the rest of the year. I always knew he was genuine and is a very intelligent horse. He'll run in the Minstrel Stakes next and hopefully he can get back up to where he was but how far he can go I don't know.
Jembatt lands seventh career win at Tipperary
he is finally getting consistent in his old age!. He’s entered at Bellewstown tomorrow and might as well run; he’s tough as old boots.
Elltaaf scores on first start for Twomey
I'm delighted and she won it the way I thought she might. She is a well bred filly who has now won her maiden and I've nothing in mind. Ennistown Stud own her.
End Play scores for Howard/Roche
the rain came in time and I fancied her today with the ground and trip suiting her. She’ll have a little break now and might go to Galway and could also go for a Listed race in the Autumn.
Knockmaole wins again for Culloty & Downey
They're probably not the hottest races he has won but they're competitive without being mad hot. It's a big help he goes on that ground. There's no obvious race at Galway but he might go to Killarney - the handicapper might push him above that 75 grade now.
Lilly wins well as Heffernan doubles-up
I always thought she was well handicapped on the flat but I never got a chance to run her on it last year. She is stronger this year and loves it here - only for her (final fence) fall here she'd have a great record. I'm very lucky to have her and she might run in a Graded chase at Killarney next.
