Saga proves too good for odds-on Run
She hated the ground. I guessed that coming up but she was here so we let her run. She'll be sold now. She's a nice filly and I think she can win a big handicap later in the year on soft ground. She's a lovely honest filly and I think she has a future.
Beauty makes it third time lucky
That Naas race is working out well. She was very green first time but ran on nicely and the second time she improved a bit to finish fifth to Cuff. They've done a good job on the ground here as we were a bit concerned it would be too quick. She doesn't want it soft but easier ground would suit. She's still quite green and was just doing enough. She has a good relaxed way of doing it and will stay seven. That's my first horse for David Kelly (Chief Executive of FBD Property & Leisure) so it's nice to kick off on the right note. He sponsored the Lester Piggott exhibition recently with FBD. To be honest I thought she might win a bit easier. I'd say we'll look to a nursery now and might take in a conditions race in between. I'm a fan of the sire also. I've had a few, obviously Niven, and another filly Kabaw who went on to finish third in the UAE 1,000 Guineas. From small numbers he's done alright.
'Lazy' Moon takes the feature at Fairyhouse
I think he deserves that. He's grown into a fine big horse. I thought the penalty he got for running at Navan might have caught him out. He's a tricky individual and does nothing at home. We can't even work him. He just leads two-year-old's and is as lazy as sin. Colin said he was in front plenty long enough. The conditions here suited and thankfully he has capitalised. He might win a Listed race but it would have to be a poor one. That Listed race at Navan was a proper one. He ran up to his level but wasn't good enough. He might win one as long as the big boys stay away. He's a nice horse and he'll put numbers on the board through the year so he'll stay on the team.
Footbridge gets off the mark on fourth start
He loves the fast ground and handles it well. I thought he'd be tough enough to beat as the trip and the ground was right for him. The horse was in great form also. He had a good run in Naas. The ground was a bit soft for him in the Curragh and I probably ran him back a bit soon. I think he is in the July sales.
Blair provides Lupini with second success
I'm very pleased with him. Kieren gave him a great ride from the draw as we were a bit concerned about it. We thought a good jockey could defeat a bad draw. He's in again over six furlongs next week and we'll see what the handicapper thinks. He seems in good form and has been working very well at home. Hopefully he'll run again next week, we'll see how he comes out of the race.
Elusive an easy winner under Halpin for Feane
We were a little bit worried about the weight today but he won so we're happy. He was all out today so the handicapper can't be too hard on us. It's good, Orlagh has been a lucky owner.
Adool impresses as Weld/Smullen double-up
She did it well. It probably wasn't the strongest maiden. She was very fit and loved the fast ground. She should progress well as the year goes on.
