Blinkers work a treat on Greyscape
I never thought that I would have run him so much and it would have taken him so long to win a maiden. He was very, very badly behaved. He had a bad temperament and was coltish. After we gelded him it took a while for his testosterone levels to drop. Now he's going the way he was early in the spring again. I spoke to Niall (McCullagh) beforehand and he really fancied his but I said she'd want to be a stakes filly! . I ran him over seven furlongs at Roscommon but did that for his mind. He's a fast horse.
Deserved win for odds-on Zunera
She deserved to get her head in front as she has produced a few good efforts recently. Jumping the road won it for her! A bit of schooling never goes astray. They went hard and the two of them were taking each other on. Five is a shade tight for her but she doesn't quite get six as she's been caught late on a few times. She's a winner at two and three now. She's an Invincible Spirit filly and will be a nice filly for the paddocks.
Donnelly off the mark at Bellewstown
It's great for the owners Simon Mulvany and Gerry Clarke. They've been good patrons of mine and Simon sponsors a race here on Saturday,. I'm local to here so it's great. I wouldn't even be 10 miles away. We've hit the crossbar here a few times so it's great to get my first winner at the track. She's in at Ayr on Monday and might go there. She's also in at Naas next Wednesday.
Hat-trick for Mustradrik & five for Elliott
It's hard to know with his form over hurdles whether he'll transfer it but he did it well. Jack gave him a good ride. He was positive and he stayed galloping. Jack is doing everything right at the moment. We might mind his claim a bit for the winter and he'll be riding mostly for me over the next couple of months. This horse is in again here over hurdles on Saturday and we'll see how he is. It looks like would stays two miles on the Flat no bother. It's been a good day and that's our fifth winner.
Donnacha gets Sherlock home
Double for Kennedy and six for Elliott
He's a grand horse. He didn't jump in Roscommon the last day and I maybe ran him back a bit quick. He might go for something at Galway now. Simon McGonagle, my head lad, myself and a few friends own him so it's great.
Elliott completes 474/1 seven-timer
We thought he was our best chance of the day and fortunately it worked out. He might go to Galway for something.
Flanagan & Gibney take the last with Choose
He liked the ground and everything suited him. I had high hopes for him at one stage but it didn't materialise.
