Snow Watch takes opener at Leopardstown
Gracchus on the mark
He was entitled to win, he had a couple of respectable runs on the all-weather in Dundalk and in Gowran Park. I think Emmett's [McNamara] three pound claim was a big help. He's in the mile and a half handicap in Galway and he'll probably go for that. He'll stay on the flat for the time being. I think his runs over hurdles helped him, they toughened him up and he's doesn't pull as hard.
Famous Name takes Meld Stakes in style
He's probably the most consistent Group performing horse in Europe, that's his 9th win and he remains unbeaten this year. He's an absolute joy to train and the ground conditions were ideal for him and when conditions are right he is extremely hard to beat. He's better than ever and Pat [Smullen] said the same, he's better as a five year old. He's a very high class horse and we'll discuss plans with Lord Grimthorpe.
Smullen completes Leopardstown double
He's a lovely horse, he's my favourite horse and there's lots of improvement to come. He's still a bit immature and green but he'll improve with age and we'll take our time with him.
Byrne seen to good effect on Strandfield
She was entitled to win, Daryl had her on the outer on the better ground which helped. She might go to Galway for a mile and a half contest on the Wednesday or Thursday if the weather stays dry.
