Battaash's brother makes a winning start
He is a very fast horse so we were a little worried about the soft ground first time out. We were delighted with him and Donnacha (O'Brien) liked the second horse and we knew that too. We knew it was going to be tough and wasn't going to be straightforward but you'd be very happy with him. He is very fast and will definitely have another run before Royal Ascot. He always looked a horse who would be more comfortable at five (furlongs) than six - he is very quick and his brother was like that too.
Joe Murphy off the mark for 2022
We weren't expecting her to win as she wasn't working as well from last year but could be one of those horses who is better on the race track than she is at home. Gary says she is very genuine and she'll go for a handicap now and already has the experience.
Second success for Shelly Banks
she did it well and while I think that's her trip, I wouldn't rule out going six furlongs again as she was unlucky and was cut off at the Curragh last time. She is suited by a fast run five on easy ground and that's her thing. We'll run until the ground gets too quick during the summer but if we get a wet summer, we'll bang away. There are a couple of good handicaps for her and while she is small, is improving. we have seven flat horses for the summer and might have one or two jumpers, we're quiet enough.
Valuable bracket for Bolger's Hymn Book Two
She is a fine filly and we're delighted to get that bracket for her. She is of course valuable for breeding and we're hoping to get black-type for her before she retires at the end of the year.
Consecutive wins for Cody's Lamprog
she is a lot stronger this year and has grown up a lot. I left the cheek-pieces off her today and that was more or less her first day without them. The ground was a worry today but she battled well to the line. The handicapper was very fair on her and with any more weight and she would have been beaten. She is a fun filly and is going the right way. She was up two furlongs (from Gowran) on heavier ground but she might even now get 1m2f on good ground. Sean Davis won on her the last day but was suspended and I thought Ben was very good on her.
Darkened knuckles down well under King
Keane times it well on Matilda
It was nice to get her to win again, she was near a couple of times so it is nice to get it. I thought for a bit we were in trouble but he is a a good jockey and just got her up. She is ideally suited to 1m4f and if it gets soft she will go back jumping.
