Carrie the Darling of some at Clonmel
That was good. I was a little disappointed with her at Fairyhouse (7th then) but she came on from the run and had no hold-ups since.
Sands Cove picks up a 2nd win
He's a nice horse. He shows us a lot at home but he'd be better if we got him to switch off a bit. He hadn't a run for nine months and we were the whole time trying to settle him.
Chu Chu Thomas arrives back at the no.1
He was in cold storage long enough (off the track for a long time after his bumper win). It doesn't really matter but Bryan said he would have won anyway. I had him backed without Speed Dial and I hadn't backed a horse in three years. When he won his bumper in Cork I was wondering how much I was going to ask for him but I went out the next morning and he had a leg. Thanks bit to God I backed him that day too.
Clonmel Cooper double at over 28/1
At last! He's been struggling to win. He's a good ground horse . that's the secret to him. Today is the best ground he's got for a while. We had him over in Cheltenham recently but he missed the cut by one to get in. We had him brought over there for decent ground. We'll keep him going in those kind of races and Bryan rode him well there. He got every fence right and he has a great eye for a stride.
Clonmel rivals blown away by Party
I thought he'd need the run again. He blew up badly at Fairyhouse. We'll mix it now for the winter between hurdles and chases.
