Smithfield battles well to take the opener
Whelan gets the best out of Big Bad Billy Bob
Pat Hayes only bought the horse the other day. He owns the Welcome Inn in Garryspillane in Limerick. He was over in the yard and he bought him in the kitchen off another owner of ours (Tom Cahill). Pat has bred and sold a good few horses down through the years. We always thought a lot of him but he had little bits and pieces of problems. We were finding it hard to get the weight off him but I really fancied him today. He will go to Galway now for one of the handicaps if he gets in.
Citizenship shows his class
We were worried he wouldn't get into the Galway Hurdle but he is in it at the moment and if he doesn't make it hopefully he will get enough of a rise to get in the amateur handicap on the Monday. That's what I'm hoping anyway! (She would probably partner Citizenship in that race).
Well supported Run takes the Novice Hurdle
He is entered in the Galway Hurdle but he mightn't get into it. He could go for the winners of two there instead or the amateur handicap. I was originally going to run him in the previous race here, the 2m 1f handicap on the flat but I was afraid he would be struck into so I decided to run him in this race.
Quick double for Heskin as Clara wins again
He'll go to Galway now for a handicap hurdle or to Cork on the Monday. He will go back over fences before too long. He is owned by Willie O'Leary who played football for Cork in the sixties and he won a Munster title with them in 1963.
Cool springs 25/1 surprise for Condon
Gamble landed as Union scores on debut
He might go to Galway now and if he does he will go for a winners bumper.
