Instructor breezes to victory in division 1
Al Boum is picture perfect in division 2
I’d say the first and second will both go out in trip to two and a half miles. Caro Des Flos might even go further. They both jumped well enough, and Al Boum Photo could come back here for the Michael Purcell. He’ll probably get an entry in the Neptune or Albert Bartlett but coming back here could be a good plan for him.
The Storyteller storms home in W T O'Grady
He jumps and he gallops. We’ll see where we go from here whether he’ll go for a handicap or stay the novice route. The owners like to go to Cheltenham, so more than likely he will go for something over there. I’m not sure if he will go for something before that. This might not be his ideal track as he was flat out early, and a more galloping track would suit him better.
Realt Mor completes double for Elliott/Sloan
It’s a nice race to win. He’s either very good or very bad, there is no inbetween with him. We tried dropping him in and they went so fast it suited him grand. He won a Powers Gold Cup so he wasn’t a bad horse in his day. He’ll probably mix and match it between hurdles and fences.
Sizing John steps up in Kinloch Brae
He was very relaxed all the way through the race, and Robert said when he popped the fence after turning into the straight that he was always going to pick up. I’m delighted with him stepping up to two and a half miles, and he got the trip very well. I’ll have to speak with Alan and Ann to see where we go next with him. He has an entry in the Irish Gold Cup or he could go to the Red Mills at Gowran, and he’s in every race at Cheltenham. You would imagine he is likely to go for the Ryanair put we will have to wait and see.
Magic round of jumping by Winter
He’s getting better and hopefully we may have an entry in the Irish National. Davy said the better ground made some difference to him as Cork was on the heavy side. He jumped well in Cork bar one, he clouted the third last, and Liam Burke’s horse (Sumos Novios) is a fair horse. Davy said he felt electric under him, and fired him at every fence.
Foxrock lands the odds in hunter chase
He did what I expected if he ran up to his mark. He’s a younger horse as the second is now 13 and we are only nine. He doesn’t do a whole lot in front but Katie said he was happy enough in front. My horse and First Lientenant were second and third behind Don Poli in the Lexus and that was only 13 months ago. Leopardstown next month is the obvious next place for him. He’s not qualified to run at Cheltenham so he might run in the Tetratema (at Gowran) after that, and he’ll have an entry in the English National and the Irish National. If he’s after winning a few hunter chases he would go there in good form.
