Society springs shock in claimer
I thought she'd run well and apart from the favourite it didn't look much of a contest,. She well in her last run on the flat last year and the step up in trip today suited her. We'll mix it between flat and hurdles now and hopefully she will give us a bit of fun around the smaller tracks.
Encapsulation impresses on second start
She is a nice filly and is pretty decent. The owners had her and couldn't get her sold as she was a big, big, weak filly as a two year old and we just had to leave her alone,. She has done nothing but improve and improve and improve and Colin said she still didn't know what she was doing there today. You wouldn't know but that filly could get herself into Stakes class. Maybe I'm wrong but she's that type of a filly and I'd say she is a filly going places. The guys that own her have her for sale and if someone comes in with enough money, that will be the next question.
War lands the odds in style
He was fresh as it was his first day out this year and it wasn't much of a contest but he did it fairly easy. We'll see what the handicapper does and make a plan from there. The ground was slow here today and that's the only reason we ran him but during the summer we'll look for big galloping tracks.
Kastasa gets going late to score for Coen & Weld
Tirmizi strikes for Whelan & Halford
He's not the most straightforward . We bought him a year and a half ago at the Champions Weekend Sale and the owner has been very patient with him and I think he'll have plenty fun with him through the year. He got murdered at Leopardstown the last day when I thought he'd have been involved and was staying at it well. He'll tip away in handicaps and we might consider hurdling if the handicapper catches up with him. He has size and scope and that was at a level he was entitled to win at today.
Cork comes good for Condon
She is still lightly raced and after her run at Cork you could see she had her chance today,. Billy said he had to use up a little bit to get a good position as being drawn 13 here you're behind the eight ball straightaway. He said she won in spite of the way the race went and he was happy with her and said she'd stay 1m4f. She is very well bred and had a few runs before coming to us and to win with her is important. Hopefully she can win again and 1m4f will be no trouble to her.
Prospectus lands feature at Clonmel
He has had a lot of problems and needs soft ground and just got away with that today,. He has a good oul engine and is in again over hurdles at Cork on Sunday and if the ground is soft enough he could possibly go there. I'm delighted for the lads, who have persevered with him. I don't really know where we go as the weather is all over the place. If you got rain on the summer tracks they can become as soft as it's been all winter but a week's rain wouldn't soften Fairyhouse or Punchestown. If you got a day's rain you'd get soft ground in Killarney or Roscommon, but I don't know.
Conron collects in finale
We had to get a handicap mark last year when he was rated 34 and we were struggling to get him into a race so we ran him in a conditions race before going back over hurdles. He likes an ease in the ground and while he isn't so much a summer horse, he likes nice ground and we'll have fun with him through the summer. He'll go to Punchestown now for a hurdle.
