Popaflora survives the chaos

I took the shoes off him on Monday and took him out of training as I didn't think he would get his winter ground. He couldn't lay up on the yielding ground at Killarney. He's going out to a field tomorrow. It's nice to get a winner and they all count. You need a bit of luck.

She's Got Grit lives up to her name

I only got her at the start of the season, but she's the most straightforward mare to train and she hasn't had a problem. She has plenty of experience and I'm delighted with her. She might go handicap chasing in the summer.

Ballykeereen a first for Barry

That's my first racecourse winner. I've had nine or 10 point-to-point winners. I train mostly point-to-pointers. I'm delighted for the owner who is an 87-year-old doctor. She's a good mare and it's easy to train a good one. She showed a lot of promise at home. She'll go hurdling now as she has plenty of ability. She wants better ground. I have four of five horses in training.
