She had been very disappointing but the fine weather helped her turn the corner. She was a big, round mare when I got her and was one of those big, backward types that took time. She will probably get a slap for winning it but it was a bad race.

He's been a great old servant and is worth his weight in gold. He hasn't run over fences since the Fairyhouse Easter meeting last year. He had joint trouble and he was so good over hurdles that we kept him at it. He dropped 6lb over fences over the winter and deserved the win today. He's a very clear winded horse.

Cliste swoops late under Hannon

We couldn't sell him as his sire, Bach, is not fashionable but he's a good, tough horse. We'll let him off now and he'll come back in novice chases.

Nailer proves a Hardy mare

She's not too bad. The race went against her but we had a top man on board. She got very strong and became very free but Derek dropped her out and that was the winning of the race. She'll be left off now and will come back to go hurdling.

Invasion takes command in finale

He probably was the best horse in the race but I walked the track beforehand and the outside part near the ambulance track was much faster and made a massive difference. The syndicate will have to decide but he might be for sale. He's obviously very decent and there were ten last time out winners in the race but he won decisively.
