Red Linn makes a winning debut at 50/1
He was working well at home with a filly that was placed here a few weeks back. I was hoping but with a two-year-old first time out they can do anything. I thought he'd maybe win the next day and it's a nice surprise. He's a good solid colt, he's plain and simple. He wanted every yard of the seven furlongs and he'll definitely get a mile. He's a nice tough horse.
Ferrybank on target for Walsh & Lee
He got the trip well. Billy said he went to the line and pricked his ears as if there was more in the tank. We'll see where we go now, we have plenty of options. He's only three and he's getting better. That's his best run but he had a very good run at Dundalk behind a good filly of Joseph O'Brien's (Russian River) who is rated 96 now when he was only beaten three-parts-of-a-length over seven. We decided to go back to six then as we thought it might be a bit easier but it looks like he's crying out for seven. He wouldn't have won at six today but thankfully the winning post wasn't at the six!
Mulvany's Red Heel is on a roll
I thought she won easily the last day and the owners were anxious enough to come to Leopardstown, they wanted to get a mark as they are breeders. I'd like to go to Gowran Park with her on Saturday week for a fillies’ race but it depends what the handicapper does. It'll be either that or Galway, we'll discuss it with the owners when things cool down a bit.
Suwayra looks a nice prospect for Weld
She did it nicely. She's been working very nicely at home and I thought she'd run in the first three. I loved the way she picked up nicely and stayed at her job very well. We won't be in a hurry with her and we might look at a Listed fillies race for her in September or October.
Japan all out to land Meld Stakes
Real Madrid player Odriozola on the scoresheet at Leopardstown
Weld & Orr double up with Kazakdaria
She's a lovely filly and is very like her sire, she's very genuine and tough and battled her way to victory,.
Buckman Tavern takes the finale for Tony Martin
He's always shown us ability but unfortunately gave us a lot of problems,. He had a lot of issues but hopefully we've turned a corner and we can motor on now. We've no plans but it's great to get that into him as he's been very frustrating. It's a great team of lads involved in him (co-owned, along with Breslin, by Mrs Paul Shanahan and Newtown Anner Stud) and unfortunately he's there a bit too long for it not to have worked out until tonight. He toughed it out up the straight, after being a bit strong and keen early, which was great.
