Well-bred Brook slams Killarney opposition
We're delighted with that. He was knocked out (lame) for 3 weeks after winning in Sligo and I thought we were in trouble to be honest but he came right and he did his first bit of work back 2 weeks ago and sure he was fairly straight anyway. Paul said he gave a blow two out there but you'd expect that. He'll go for the two and a half mile novice at Galway on the Thursday if he is okay now. He has improved an awful lot considering we couldn't even get him to finish in a point-to-point at the start. There is no reason to think that he won't improve another bit still. He'll be entered in Galway on the Monday too.
Senectute foiled as Jack storms home
He had flat form on softish ground which was always going to be a help. He was probably a lucky winner but they all count.
Sher leaves nothing to chance in feature
She doesn't settle too well and Andrew heard there might not be much pace on so he asked us could he make it. She's difficult if you hold her up, so if he you leave her off in front she relaxes. We thought the ground was gone too soft for her but obviously not. We hope to go to Galway now for a handicap hurdle that comes up before the Plate.
Hildor a bridesmaid no more
She is the bridesmaid no more. She is a very genuine filly and it was her honesty that won it for her really. Maurice Regan is the owner of the Newtown Anner Stud Farm and they are based just outside Clonmel. They are building up a breeding operation there.
Lass just holds Lady
That's my first winner for Gerry (Flannery). He is from Tulsk in County Roscommon. I have a lovely Acclamation filly for him as well. This one (Edmondstown Lass) is a lovely filly. I said to Gerry that if she could get her nose in front today that she'd win again. She still has to strengthen up and she will do that.
Levey gets Lus home
I am currently renting a yard near Carrick On Suir. That win was badly needed and the filly deserved it. She has been knocking on the door the whole time and I was fairly confident coming here. I didn't mind that Sean was putting up a pound overweight. She had the ease in the ground that she needs. She'll go to Ballinrobe on Monday now if she's alright to try to win a race there for the second year running.
Lagan gets it right on outing number 3
He disappointed me on his first two runs. He is a fine big horse that will hopefully go on to bigger and better things. He'll be one for fences down the road and I'm not sure if I'll go for a winners bumper with him. He'll go novice hurdling this season.
