The Granson drifts left but holds on for Cawley
Sandra Hughes thought a good bit of him too. She told me he is the makings of a good horse but is very delicate. Paul gave him a smashing ride, he took his time on him. I thought a good bit of this horse before but he had a lot of issues. We were going to move him on earlier in the year but the lads were patient and said to find out was there any issues with him and try to get a race out of him. I'm delighted their faith has been repaid. The staff love to see Padraig (owner Padraig Coffey) arriving on a Friday evening as he brings them all off for drinks, he looks after them very well and they'll definitely be looking forward to seeing him now!
Mullins French recruit makes winning Irish debut
He is a nice type that will stay further, he jumps well and did everything right today. It was a nice starting point and I was delighted with the way he picked up. Even though he is a handy little horse Paul said he found the track very sharp. He has a nice long stride and I'm hoping he will stay much further. He looks like one that will improve and he will be nice racehorse down the line. He could go to Listowel but it might come too soon. Hopefully our Galway novices will be going to Listowel. We'll see how he comes out of the race.
Zoffalee lands another feature race
That was brilliant. It has been a fairly profitable week for him now, that's two nice pots that he has landed,. I suppose we will have to head to the Lartigue (at Listowel) with him after that. He went up six for the other night so you'd imagine that he will go up something similar again. I don't think he is too far ahead of the handicapper anymore. The Lartigue is worth so much we’ll have to give it a go. We've only had six horses to run over jumps for the summer and four of them are after winning six races. If every summer was like that we'd be happy enough. Hopefully we'll squeeze a few more out of them before it's over. There was a bit of a cut in the ground Ballinrobe but he probably wouldn't go on heavy. The Lartigue will probably be the biggest pot that he will ever run in in his life so we might take a chance on it anyway. regardless of the ground.

Jaime Sommers wins for the Bowes
It was a bit of a surprise. She had been disappointing so far this season but she takes a good few runs to get fit. Ruth rode the race to perfection. She kept out of the chopped-up ground as the other two took on each other. Fair play to Ruth, she rode a fantastic race. We tried the cheekpieces on her the last time and they seemed to have improved her and this was her second time to wear them. It's great to win with her on the Flat as she ran out of options over hurdles and fences. She was badly handicapped, she was just caught. She had her first run on the Flat at the Curragh but she didn't like the stalls, so the flag start here was ideal for her, this race was really ideal for her. She loves Tramore and was placed the other two times she ran here. It wasn't a total surprise as the track suited and the ground dried up a bit. We definitely won't go over fences with her again. I wouldn't risk her as she is the only filly I have out of Solerina. She is entered on Saturday in a maiden but is not eligible now. I'd like to see what the handicapper gives her and maybe go for something at the end of the season on the Flat. Her mother won three Flat races so it's great that she has now as well. She has now won over fences, hurdles and on the level. Solerina is twenty-two now and is in-foal to Walk In The Park. I think she has nine foals so far and she is great form.
