Maritime Wings finishes with a wet sail
It was a little bit of a surprise. Dylan said he actually settled because he could be a little bit of a handful to start with at home. The main thing today was to get him to settle and come home. He showed a nice turn of foot there and stayed well. He's won with his ears pricked. Joseph has always thought a lot of him and said there that he'll step him up into listed or group class next time and see how we go. He was still green and he's gone wide on the bend. The second horse is a nice horse and our lad had every right to come back and get a bit of help with the other horse, he kept battling to the line. Hopefully he'll turn into a nice horse. The owners (the Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate) have teamed up and it's the first winner for that syndicate. It's great for them and they are here as well which is brilliant. It's a shame that the other lad (Point Gellibrand) couldn't run as he is a good horse. It looked like he sat down a little bit (in the stalls) and I'm not sure if he was causing it.
298/1 double for Joseph in first two races
Dermot Murphy back amongst the winners with Sasvana
The chap that was leading her up owns her, he's been riding out for us for years and he minds that horse like a baby., . We were a good fourth in Dundalk the week before Christmas and we decided to give her a break. It stood to her as she has matured great. I don't know where we are going to go from here. I knew she'd run well today, she was in great form, and she got in at the bottom of the handicap. They shortened the race by half a furlong, and I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be to our advantage as she just held on. I only have two in training at the moment and it's a long time ago before I had a winner. My last winner was at Fairyhouse (Nanny Mcphee September 2007) and she got killed on her next run at Dundalk, she was a good horse. I won a race here years ago as well and it's great to be back.
Harrington lands the feature with Real Appeal
He really loves Leopardstown. I'd say his handicapping days are probably over now. He likes good ground, Leopardstown, and we'll see where we go now with him. He has stepped forward very well this year, he's a different horse, and I'm delighted with him. Seven is what he needs, I'm not sure he gets much further. Even still he got there a bit soon and was pulling himself up a little bit in front. This was the plan and I'll have to go and look at the program book now. He'll come back here on Champions Weekend for the seven furlong race, that will be his aim at the end of the year.
