Must Meet Cecil too strong for rivals in Sligo Claimer
Glendars Mahler opens her account in Mares Maiden Hurdle
Lady makes all to give Fahey, McDonagh and Reynolds Sligo double
I got an easy lead. Cian Quirke (on Killeemore Lad) came to me at the third-last. I still didn't need to commit but it just got her racing a bit which was lovely and she battled it out well to the line. She stays further, she won at Roscommon over two miles four, and I'd say she'll be a nice chaser. I'm looking forward to riding her over a fence. I thought Glendars Mahler was unlucky last year when she fell twice and she turned upside down in Ballinrobe as well. She did everything right today and I'm delighted to get a maiden win with her. It’s the first time that Hazelhatch Lady has actually put two runs back to back and she's a very, very good horse on her day when she puts her mind to it.
Golden Sandbanks shows his versatility for Paul Flynn
Fizzle Rock another all the way winner at Sligo
I was always travelling strongly, keeping the momentum going and keeping the bit high in her mouth, and she was tough and kept going well for me. She's a homebred mare so we'll keep her to breed from her. My grandfather had the breed and they're a tough family, a joy to have. I won a point-to-point on the dam. Carl did well on her because she's not simple to ride.
Emily In Paris backs up Killarney win with Sligo success
Obviously I was going to kick on up the hill if I could at all and she was good and idle going to the last. She's very straightforward, one of them mares you love riding, love seeing your name down beside hers. Davy's a shrewd operator and he said he thought he had her in the right place today. I thought she'd win a bumper the way she worked and then all she seemed to do was getting beaten, just staying, but Kevin Brouder rode her a bit of work after she won in Killarney and she worked super. He said you don't need to go three miles with her. She was well in this evening. She's not a bad filly and she's out of a mare who won over a mile-and-a-half on the Flat.
I Am Shadow follows tried and tested Sligo route
The horses are in great form. We made no secret that it would be Galway time before our better horses started to come out and that's the way it worked out. This is a lovely mare from a great family with a very loyal and patient owner and I'm just delighted she's went and won a bumper. She had plenty of experience and she showed that today. There's a few more in her, I'd say, and we're looking forward to her. She'll go over hurdles at some stage and she'll probably have a go on the Flat as well.
