Landshark impresses on debut
He was bought at the Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale by Eamonn Reilly. He was an expensive horse (E210,000) and it's nice when they come out and win first time. He's a gorgeous horse. He will probably be a seven furlong horse but we started him over six having come from the breeze up in case he was a bit free. Colm said he was always going to get out and he didn't want to bustle him. He wanted him to have a really nice experience today which he did. He's the first horse that Bob Ellis has had in Ireland. He's been in Saratoga so hopefully he will get over sometime.
Zeeyalater gets off the mark
He really deserves that. He's a little horse that wears his heart on his sleeve. All season he's been first of the three-year-old's so we were really hopeful coming into today. It's very hard to take on those hardened older horses in that rating band. Gary said that each time he runs he's getting better. It will be more of the same hopefully, and he loves the ground. He's a fast ground horse, and there is no point running him on anything else. I'm delighted for my mum and my sister who own him. I bullied them into buying him!
Weld maintains momentum with Espoir
She did what you would expect her to do. It was a nice workmanlike performance, and she’s progressed from her first run at Galway. She’s a lot sharper and learned from Galway. The step up in distance helped her. They went a much more sedate pace which gave her a chance to find her feet today. She could be a Stakes filly next year.
Delaire lands some nice bets
I got him a few months ago off Christian von der Recke, who recommended him to me. He was bought to go hurdling but he got his German mark of 58 over here so we said we'd plug away with him until the winter. There is a funny rule here that if you are rated under 60 then you can only run in a maiden or a claimer before you get a mark. He ran in a claimer and then ran a good race to be fourth the last day. Denis gave him a peach tonight. He'll stay a mile and a half and he'll head to Tramore now.
Steps leads home Ballydoyle 1, 2
We always liked him and felt he would be comfortable at a mile and a half. We always thought he would be comfortable on nice ground. We were going to go to Goodwood and then the ground changed. He's a bit green and babyish but is a good colt. Seamie was happy to go along, and we would see if Johannes Vermeer was able to pick him up. He was getting a lot of weight. Seamie gave him a very good ride. He was left alone in front and was gone turning in. He could go for the Voltigeur next at York. Johannes Vermeer could go down to Australia for a race there.
Rock back on track with fifth win
He got a cut on a joint and the wound kept opening up. We had to give him some time off and he’s been a bit of an unlucky horse overall. He’s just not big enough for fences but has been doing it over hurdles and on the Flat. He will continue to mix it.
Abyssinian completes double for O'Brien
He'd a good run in Killarney and did it well today. He's uncomplicated and wears the blinkers as he's a bit lazy. That's just his third run and you would have to be delighted with that.
