Smooth success for The Game Changer
It was a bit of a messy race the last day and they didn't go much of a gallop. He's a half brother to Johns Spirit [won the Grade 3 Paddy Power Gold Cup Chase in Cheltenham last month for Jonjo O'Neill] and he's a bit like him in that he doesn't like being in front too long. Even at home he can be a bit of a character if in front too long. I'm not sure where he'll go next, but we'll probably have to step him up to graded class now.
Ketchum's brother scores in style
He's got a staying pedigree and is a three-miler. He should be able to go the novice route once he is going over a distance.
Arvika does what he has to in John Durkan
He seems fine, it's just one of those things. It's a long way from March and hopefully he'll be ok in the morning. All being well he'll go for the Lexus.
Sullane Chief marks out more territory
He was third first-time out in Gowran last year, but he lost his form after that. He was treated for ulcers this year and that seems to have turned him inside out. Hopefully he keeps improving and I think there could be a good handicap in him.
Super sub Cooper doubles up with Hughes
He always looked like he'd make a chaser but it's nice to see it happen. He's in the three-mile Grade 1 (Topaz Novice Chase) at Christmas, and more than likely that's where he'll go. Hopefully he'll go on from that and it was a good first run over fences. The second horse had already run and we were giving him 12lb. He jumped well.
Black Hercules gives Mullins another big day
I would have been absolutely gutted if he had been beaten,. jockey Patrick Mullins . I'd say he wasn't that impressive. He got his hind legs knocked taking the bend. He'll want further in time, but I'm very fond of him.
