Ally too good for Downpatrick rivals
The hurdles are there to be jumped and she seemed to jump well enough. We couldn't believe how good she was the other day after she ran in Sligo. She had been great on the flat but she has been a little bit disappointing this year, I've changed her routine a little bit and I train her outside now. She is probably only getting fit now by the look of it. She was big in Sligo I thought. She travels a lot better in a hurdle race so we might stick to hurdles for now and I actually think she will jump a fence as well. There's probably more fun to be had with her.

Wave just prevails to complete double for McConnell
We were touch and go about running so I'm glad we did now! They didn't have any rain really since this morning. She's a proper quick-ground filly. Mark's (McNiff) horse is a decent filly (Lighthouse Rose) around here so it was a good performance to get on top of her. She wants every yard of that trip; she will stay further.
Ruler Of Dubai pops up at 20/1 for Young
He was second here in a handicap so he handles here and he stays. With a rating of 89 you don't expect to win a maiden hurdle. He ran disappointingly the last day in Tipperary but the ground was very soft and heavy. We said we would give him a run here as I knew he would stay and he operates on the track. The lack of rain probably helped. Ryan is very strong in a finish. The other horse (Alexharwill) was second in the third race. At least it is nice to get one. He (Ruler Of Dubai) will probably go chasing later in the year.

Pete completes memorable day for McConnell & Harvey
It's great to get a good day like that. He ran well on his first run when he was very green. I quite like Leading Light horses - they seem to a bit immature mentally but they are tough horses. He was good there today. He stayed well and he was fit. He thrives on his training even though he is not a very big horse. I don't know what we will do with him, we might put him away for the year and bring him back in the spring to go hurdling with him. A great bunch of lads own him (the Better Days Syndicate) and they were very patient with him. I'm delighted for them. They are from Ashbourne, Ratoath direction and north Co Dublin.
