Friendless Wish takes Naas opener
I eventually got the trip right. He travelled beautifully the last day but just didn't get home and we said we'd drop him back to six as he has loads of speed. He's was a breeze up horse. He did it well there and we'll put him away and hopefully he'll improve again next year. I'm delighted for everyone at home and for the owner who has been very loyal to me.
Belle bounces back to form under Roche
The reason we came here is because Dundalk wouldn't be an option for her. This was the only game in town. Leigh always thought six was a bit short for her, so we said we'd take our time and drop her in. She's very hard on herself and lives on her nerves a bit. He gave her a lovely ride. They went very hard which played into her hands, and she loves a cut in the ground. It's a nice surprise when they do that. We might keep her in training next year. Tom (Brennan, owner) is in two minds but when things go right for her she's a right tool.
Still Standing leads home Harrington 1-2
He promised to do that in Leopardstown last week, and he was very good there today. I was delighted with the filly as well. She just got a bit tired in the last half-furlong. He (Colin Keane) thought she was going to get to him but then just got a bit tired. It’s heavy ground. They both went on it but they both would prefer a bit better ground. I’d say he will stay a mile and a half and Colm thinks he’s a nice horse.
O'Brien doubles-up with Band Of Outlaws
Lyons & Keane team up again with Inscribe
This horse was put away in case we needed him for Colin. We didn’t need him and debated whether we would run or save him for the (Irish) Lincoln. His first race next year will probably be the Lincoln.
Likeable Fox lands another big pot
Gary said that when he hit the front he just stopped and there was plenty of horse under him. That's just the type of horse he is. We got beaten by a tight margin in the (Galway) Hurdle, and then win this by a tight margin. He's a very nice horse to have and is in the Morgiana Hurdle and the Fighting Fifth. There is a week between the two races and he will go for one of them. He always runs very genuine, and is a tough, consistent horse. I'd say there is a lot more in him.
100 winners 'the icing on the cake' for Keane
She did it well. She probably got there too well and a bit too soon but is a lovely straight forward filly who is improving with every run. She stays well and the step up in trip helped her. It's great for Colin to get to 100 winners as well.
Tocco makes it two from two in the Finale
It's a very pleasing performance by her. She is a very valuable filly and I look forward to winning Group races with her next year. She would always appreciate an ease in the ground and would not want it firm. She is a smart filly. She had a setback fairly soon after her previous run and was off all through the summer. We just waited and patience paid dividends.
