Meade getting a tune from Castlehume
We didn’t really do a lot with him since he won the last day. He’s fairly clear-winded. He’s a full-brother to Russian Bill and I was pretty sure he’d stay.

He won nicely in Haydock and we just haven’t had any rain in England since then so we have been waiting and waiting. This is the first opportunity that he’s had on a little bit of softer ground. He had a lot to do because he went up 11lb after Haydock but he’s clearly still improving and that was nice. He got a little niggling problem when he was younger and we have to look after him and he just needs a bit of soft ground as a result. That’s a nice prize to land. There are a few nice races in Ascot later in the year and the ultimate aim would be something like the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot. It’s worth a hell of a lot of money and you would have thought that you might get soft ground at that time of the year. He’s won a valuable pot at Haydock and an even more valuable one today so he doesn’t owe us anything. He’s an out-an-out seven-furlong horse.

Rovetta delights Harrington in Galway
She’s my only winner during the week and has won twice. She was great although Colm was a lot further back than he wanted to be. He got a bit squeezed after the start but he said once she came down the hill he didn’t really have to go for her. She won well in the end and is as tough as old boots.
Mullins makes it a dozen for week with Dorrells Pierji
He made hard work of it but did it nicely in the end. He’s a horse that will go novice hurdling now and stay going for the winter. The horses were in great form all week and the jockeys were all riding fantastic as well. I’m delighted the way the whole week turned out, and my staff have been excellent all week. Sharjah would have to be the highlight (in the Galway Hurdle) but Riven Light also has to come in there as well. I’m delighted also to have Ruby back in winning form too. We’re lucky to have such good owners behind the yard and without them we wouldn’t be able to have festivals like this.
