Hory pops up at 33/1 in Fairyhouse
Snake Oil draws sting from his rivals off the front
It was nice to get that out of the way, on his Naas run he was entitled to win,. He was out for about 12 months with niggles. It's not ideal to be winning your maiden hurdle at this time of year. He's a chaser long term. I'm going to chance keeping him on the go. If we got a wet period during the summer there is a rated novice in Roscommon and then we could go to Galway. He'll go chasing then in the autumn. It's not ideal going out doing your own donkey work. He actually jumped well on the whole, I think he missed the second last when he was just idling. He's a classy kind of horse and we've always liked him. He had a few niggly issues but he's a seven-year-old now and a big strong horse so hopefully we get a clear run with him. He wouldn't want it any quicker than that, it's lovely ground today.
Dolcita all out to land listed chase
She was very brave and Paul was very brave on her, he decided beforehand that he was going to be very positive on her as he felt she was a good jumper,. He wanted to make more use of that and hope that the better ground would suit her, which I think it has. She's a very game mare and she's not afraid to have a good cut at her fences. When I saw the entries for the race I thought it was going to be tough to beat Jeremys Flame. I think our mare has improved all season and that's paid off today. There is a Grade 2 mares chase in Punchestown that Elimay goes for and this mare will probably have to get an entry and join her.
Song Of Earth hits right notes in Fairyhouse
said Danny Mullins. He disappointed us some days but it's great to see him being able to do it on a bit of drier ground as well, it opens up plenty of options for him going into the summer.
Willie and Danny Mullins double up with Bronn
He surprised me on that ground, I thought he might want more juice in it. Danny said he was very happy with him on it and he'd like to go further with him on that ground, he said he would improve again. We'll see now whether he comes out of that well enough to go to Punchestown or whether we put him away and go chasing next season. He was bought with chasing in mind and that's the direction he's going.
Bearer battles gamely to grab another Grade 2
Irregularheartbeat bounces back to form
We waited for a bit better ground, she just wasn't handling it all winter. The drop back to two miles suited her too. She has too much respect for her fences and jumps them very big, that's why we dropped back to hurdles today. We'll pick out another handicap for her and see, the handicapper shouldn't be too hard on her there. We'll keep going for a bit as long as the ground isn't firm.
Dorans Weir the apple of Hourigan's eye
She's a good mare, she's a dream and I'm lucky to have her. She's the one that will keep me going for another few years,. She should have won in Leopardstown but maybe if she'd won there she wouldn't have won today as she would have had another 3lb. We'll look at Punchestown now, we'll go for the Grade 3 mares' bumper. She has already run in a hurdle race and finished fifth. If she doesn't run at Punchestown she'll be going on her holidays. I have only 12 horses riding out but I wouldn't give away any one of them. They've all run well and are young horses. I'm loving it but the problem we have is no staff, it would break your heart. Fellas come in and ride out but some days they don't come in at all. The days they don't come in you lunge them and school them in the loose school. It's just a nightmare, I would not like to be starting out and I love what I'm doing. I'm 60 years at it now and I'll be 75 at Christmas.
