Mala Beach toughs it out
A great jump at the last sealed it. Hopefully he'll be a good novice chaser. He's a nice horse and a big three mile chaser. He was flat out there from the third last. That's it for the year. He's a smashing horse to go over fences next year. It was a good performance as the second horse got a bit of a freebie. He'd go on any ground, but on softer ground he is more effective.
Rog rules in three-miler
He's been running well on bottomless ground and the drier ground and trip was a big help today,. He was running on at Gowran last time. He was paddling a bit on the ground but was staying on. I'll talk to the boss (JP McManus) and see how he comes out of this.
Black battles to land spoils
He was lucky to hold on but it's great to win with him. I think he ran into a very very good horse of Willie's at Punchestown last time,. I think he'll be rested now and will go out for the summer. I haven't had a winner for a while so it's a relief to get one.
Realt Mor caps Elliott's day
He seems to handle soft ground really well. We thought if he was placed it would be great. He's a big horse. The Dial-a-bet chase at Leopardstown over two miles would be perfect. It has been some day. I've had four winners and nearly five, beaten a short head. We'll enjoy tonight. This lad was good at Navan last time. It looked a bad race, but the distance he won, a bad horse can't do that. I think he's a lot better going left-handed. I'm delighted for the Sloans. They've had a Cheltenham winner and a Grade 1 winner in the space of two weeks. He's a free running type and very keen. He lives in a field 24/7 and is never in a stable. I'm not sure about Punchestown. That may be it for the year and if he doesn't win again he doesn't owe us. I only got the horse in the new year. I have to give credit to the lads who have done lots of work with him.
The Tullow Tank impresses
It often backfires when you run two in one race. The other horse (Real Steel) was a bit free with Jane, but he'll be alright next year. The Tullow Tank had two respectable runs over hurdles. The reason we went that direction is because he's a bit buzzy and those runs helped him grow up. On his last couple of runs he hung a bit right. He went a bit right today, but had the rail to lean into.
