It was a hugely tactical race. Ruby was very cool on him. I thought they had left the horse in front too long. He flew the last and Ruby said he was idling in front. He's improving all the time. That race will bring him on a bit and he'll be back here for the champion hurdle.

Bird makes all for convincing win

It was a very good run at Clonmel the last day, and Bryan said he'd plenty up his sleeve. A lot of the credit goes to my brother Donnacha. We've had a tough time lately but this helps to make up a bit for it. She'll probably come back here at the end of January for a handicap.

What a season for Carlingford Lough

That ground was ideal, it wasn't too soft. He's a horse with a year's experience and he keeps improving all the time. His owner has great patience which helps a lot. He runs well fresh so if he goes to Cheltenham I doubt he'll run beforehand.

He's a beautiful horse and he really rose to the occasion today. The form of his Fairyhouse win was very good. It was different tactics today and he travelled better. He's another chaser in the making and I'd say we'll be looking at Fairyhouse or Punchestown rather than Cheltenham.
