In Bloom blossoms at Navan
Shes' a nice big filly. She was placed on the flat but just lacked the pace in a finish. She jumps well and we were hoping she would run well. We'll pick her races for her. There's a good series for fillies so we don't have to take on the colts and geldings. I asked the jockey [Niall Madden] why he went to the front so soon and he replied that she was going so easily. She ran in my wife's colours and they go back three or four generations. It's good to see them out again.
Mount Benbulben conquers another challenge
He's a nice horse and he's very tough. He's got a fair engine and going further will be no problem. We'll look for something over Christmas for him and we'll see how he comes out of this race. We wouldn't go any shorter. He stays very well. He could run here on December 18th in a Grade 1 over two-and-a-half-miles.
Down Under comes up trumps
He did it well. His run in the north was a good run and he stayed at it [third in a 2m 6f handicap hurdle at Down Royal on November 5]. Mark said today he wanted to ride him handier and that suited him well. It was a low grade contest but he stuck at it well. He could go further. We'll talk to Frank [Frank Berry racing manager to JP McManus] and see what he wants to do. It's great to get a winner.
Definitely a Formidableopponent
Paul said he didn't like the ground much. He said he was struggling a bit down the back. It wasn't until he pulled him out on the better ground in the straight that he picked up. He's a nice horse. He has won a point-to-point. If the ground got very heavy we would have to dodge it a bit with him. We'll talk to the boss [JP McManus] and see where he goes next.
Groody storms up the Troytown Hill
Flemenstar a commentator's dream
We'll have to move him up now and we'll look at the Grade 1 chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. I think he's a good horse and I've always liked him. He has still a bit to learn with the jumping.
