Moyle gets Troytown Day off to good start
Go Paddy Go on the winning flow
I had a sleepless night last night as he got a knock on a leg yesterday evening. The vet passed him here today and everything worked out well. He was probably in front a little bit sooner than we'd have liked and Mikey said he idled a little bit in front. I have four in training at the moment and I also have a sawmills in Toomevara, Tipperary.
Apache makes it just like old times at Navan
I thought it was a very strong race beforehand and to win like that is a real bonus. Paul said he was cantering all the way and he jumped well apart from the last. He didn't jump that well the last time in Punchestown . he was a bit lairy when he hit the front. He's something to look forward to and the obvious race is to come back here for the Grade 1 Navan Novice Hurdle (December 15th). At least we have one to take on Willie (Mullins) with now. Trip wise he doesn't want any shorter and he's a chaser really.
Ballycasey lives up to his billing
Big Wexford success in the Troytown
Everything happened well for him today. He always travels but doesn't find much off the bridle. The ground was a bit better today and that probably helped. He was always going to win a big one one day and we can look at all the good staying handicaps now. He just needs to land there on the line but in fairness to him he's earned plenty of place money before. It wasn't until he passed the line today that I was happy!. Joe (Moran) drove the lorry for us for years and he has a share in him. Fran Whelan has a steel company in Duncormick and Davy Roe is a vegetable man down around that part of the country.
More joy for Colgan, on Vics
He's a grand little horse. Robbie said he couldn't believe how well he was travelling. Once he has less than eleven stone on his back he travels well in his races. He's probably going to get a fair whack from the handicapper. I'll look at something like that Pertemps qualifier at Leopardstown now,.
Shesafoxylady shows her class again
She has a great turn of foot and that's why I didn't want to go too soon on her today. She's tough as anything because I wasn't sure going between the wings of the last whether I'd catch Nina (on Palm Sur) but she put her head down and away with her. She's a good mare . not many win three . I wouldn't rule something like the Cheltenham Bumper out but I'll leave that to my father, he can deal with that and I'll just enjoy today,.
