Roche and O'Callaghan strike in turf opener
Dawn breaks maiden on seasonal return
He was a bit green the first time and has progressed over the winter. He’ll stay further and shouldn’t have any problem getting a mile. I’d say he’s fairly versatile ground wise, and better ground wouldn’t hurt.
Bolger and Manning complete 356/1 double with Solar Wave
She has only one eye and that probably doesn’t help but when everything falls right for her she’s a nice type of filly. Hopefully we’ll find another one for her.
Never No More takes the Madrid Handicap in fine style
Bolger & Manning record terrific treble with Normandel
She ran well here at the backend. I only had her for a while after she came from France. She got a bit tired in the last furlong that day, and we were expected that she could build on it. She will stay at around seven furlongs or a mile. She won a Listed race in France at a mile and a quarter but I think she’s better at seven or a mile. She handles that ground well. She’s a very sound filly and I’d imagine she will go on better ground as well.
Karawaan lands big pot on first outing for Lyons
He hasn’t missed a day since Gaelic Bloodstock purchased him. He’s done a lot of cantering to get a good base into him.
Standing Still progressing on return to action
He just loves that ground. He still won last year on ground he hated. He hasn’t really had that ground since he won here as a two-year-old. He’s won a Listed race now, and he’ll come back here for the Alleged Stakes. He’s already won over a mile and three and we’d be quite happy to step up to a mile and a half.
Wargrave off the mark in style on return
He did it well and I suppose he had the form in the book. He gets the seven very well so we said we’d make plenty of use of him. Chris said he enjoyed it out in front and did it well. We might have a look at the Guineas Trial in Leopardstown. He’s in the German Guineas as well so we’ll have to see how it all ties in. He’s a grand solid horse. Hand On Heart ran a cracker (in the Park Express Stakes). A mile on soft ground suits her. We tried stretching her out once or twice but it didn’t really work. That was more like her run today, and it was just a bit annoying that the post came!
