Eddman scores on 'track' debut
He had a hood on because he gets a little bit hot in himself and we just felt with the noise here today on his first time at a racecourse it would help him. It must have helped him because he relaxed very well. When he (Danny Hand) asked him to go on he went immediately. We are delighted for him. I definitely thought he had an each-way chance today - we came here for place money in fairness. We didn't know how he would handle the track as it is not every horse than handles it. Some of the others probably didn't. He travelled away up front and he's a front-running type of horse. You can ride him handy and travel away. He didn't pull up going up the hill which is what I liked. You'll definitely see him in Punchestown in the final of this series. It will be a good race but he's qualified now.
Laverteen scores for Meade and Flanagan
I suppose it was a tight race (today). I was a bit disappointed with him in Naas when he turned in and looked like he had a chance and just sort of got run out of it. That was a competitive race in Naas. Sean was less than confident before it - he thought the track might not suit him and the ground was a bit quick. He handled it quite well in a small field, he jumped well and stays well. He could go to Fairyhouse or Punchestown but he has also schooled well over fences and he may go over fences soon.
Elliott's outsider Take proves too strong for hotpot
He improved a lot from the last day and Keith said he was a different horse. It was a surprise but it's nice to get it, winners are what we want and what it is all about.
Ulster National plan works out perfectly for Amaulino
We bought the horse initially from Colin Bowe with this race in mind. . Leopardstown's win took me completely by surprise, I was shocked. . Coming here today I said to Andrew Ring about the trip and he said 'he settles that well and he's that lazy he'll be grand!'. It's brilliant for Jim Matthews who has been such a big supporter of ours and I'm so pleased for him. . I would say what we will do is go to Aintree for the race before the National as a big day out and then put him away for something like the Midlands National in Kilbeggan. There's plenty in him - he beat Kaiser Black in a beginners' chase. If Kaiser Black was here today what price would he be? Don't get me wrong he's not Kaiser Black but he's a nice handicapper. . He was showing us plenty at home in his homework and we were expecting him to win in Down Royal and he completely disappointed. Andrew came in and said he doesn't handle soft ground. He handles good ground and he seems to be better on good ground. He should be a good fun horse for the summer. . Great ride from Andrew and he is a big part of our team.
Slemish enjoys himself in Downpatrick
Billaway powers clear to take hunters in style
The owner John Turner has a few nice horses with me including Tornado Flyer who hopefully we will have back for Punchestown. We said we would buy this fellow for a bit of fun hunter chasing and he can progress from there up to Fairyhouse or Punchestown, probably Fairyhouse I'd say. He was very lazy there and he's learning about racing slowly, and I think his jumping has improved. I think he could be a nice hunter chaser for the future for some of the big tracks. Hopefully a nice fun horse for John.
Multifactorial gives Elliott double at Downpatrick
He's a big, honest galloping horse. He just does everything you ask him to do but he's a horse for the future. He had a good run behind (stablemate) Thatsy who I think is very smart. He's a big three-miler for the future.
