Bolger on the mark again with She's Trouble
I’m delighted with that and it’s a lovely winner for Joe and Marguerite Joyce. She’s by Joe’s own sire Fracas and is a sister to Smash Williams. Kevin said she handled the ground well today and the plan now would be to try and get some black type.
Earlswood has Derby options after Gallinule victory
He travelled everywhere and I got a nice lead down to the furlong pole. He doesn’t do much in front. It was great to get a horse like that into the yard after John Oxx retired and it’s brilliant to get a new owner into the yard as well. It’s heavy ground today. He didn’t mind it but it’s tough going. He’s entered at Epsom but there is free entry into the Irish Derby after winning this race so that’s another option. I’ll talk with the owner and we’ll decide what to do.
Helvic Dream a first Group One on Flat for Meade
Colin said he was going to sit a bit closer and have one go at him (Broome). He felt he went too soon for him the last day and he felt he did again today. He has an electrifying turn of speed but lasted it out. It was a brilliant ride. He’s been a pleasure to train and doesn’t take a lot of work. There have been plenty of people interesting in buying him but thankfully the owners have kept faith in me as I felt he could win a Group One. I’ve had a number of horses placed in Guineas, and a fourth in the Epsom Derby, but that is my first Group One. I can die happy now!. They are so easy to train compared to jumpers. I’m always joking with Flat trainers that they are getting away with murder. You don’t have to train Flat horses to stay or to jump and there is not nearly as many injuries. I’ve always said that Sheikh Mohammed should have sent Willie (Mullins) 200 horses years ago and got him out of the way!. I was afraid to even dream about it (winning a Group 1). I’m thrilled and it means a lot.
Empress Josephine rules in Irish 1,000 Guineas
We thought she was lovely the first day and then at Leopardstown all the leaders went too fast over seven. We then ran her over nine furlongs in Gowran, a lovely run but we thought nine may have just caught her out. She’s able to quicken and Seamus gave her a lovely ride. She’s very classy. She might go for the Coronation Stakes but we’ll see what the lads want to do. She’s a sister to Minding and the second filly is a sister to Gleneagles. We were going to step Joan Of Arc up to ten furlongs after today and she might go for the French Oaks.

Visualisation leads home an O'Brien one-two
He’s a good, tough horse and Dec gave him a good ride. I nearly feel a bit sorry for Fame And Acclaim as he’s a good solid horse and deserves to win again but I’m delighted they both ran well. The winner is progressing and ran into a good horse the last day. He’ll probably go for one of the handicaps at Ascot.
