Bunyan has Trader quick out of the blocks
It wasn't that much of a surprise. He was a horse that was doing everything right at home,. He's a very straight-forward and very solid little two-year-old. He hadn't been away for a racecourse gallop and was only on grass once. He's a horse for the future I think. I have twelve two-year-olds this season which is my biggest number ever and they seem a quality bunch. He's not at the top but he'd be very close - I suppose he is the top now. I'll look at the winners of one at Navan in about a month's time and the Marble Hill would be another option. He's a horse that will improve a good bit from the experience. I thought coming here he would improve more than most would. People like to have their horses wound up for the first day but he's not. He's a horse we've been looking forward to since he started to do a bit. He could step up a bit on better ground to six or seven. He's a horse that stays well but has plenty of boot.
Guineas Trial now for Stenographer
It's nice to get the first one. He could be a horse for the future,. He doesn't lack toe and when these horses get a run they can sharpen up. A Guineas Trial seems the obvious thing now. He got through that well and I'd say he'll handle any ground.

“That's the first plan over. We'll tip away with him in handicaps as long as he gets a dig in the ground,”
No denying Queen in Park Express
She's very honest. She grew a lot over the winter and we have her in the Irish Oaks,. We said we'd take a chance today although a mile would be too short as it would be a hard mile in that ground and she stays very well. I said to Fran it might be a bit sharp and I'd be happy with third and get black-type. I thought I was going to be very happy with second but she's so honest and stays so well. She has been working very well this spring. She needs to go further and I'll probably never run her over a mile again. It was the first day of the year and I knew the ground would be hard work as I had walked it this morning and the day before. I didn't see her winning but thought she'd run very well. Winning is a real bonus. Fran said she is still green. She's very very light on her feet and once she goes up in trip I don't think the ground will matter so much but she is by Jeremy so I won't be sorry to see any rain. She's very tall and needs a good galloping track. Last year she was nearly too hard on herself as any time she worked she tried to beat the horse in front. We wanted to make sure she was justified being in the Irish Oaks. We'll keep paying the money now!
Irish Guineas the target for Awtaad
“He's a very nice horse. He was a bit backward last year when he only ran twice. He was third here and then won at Leopardstown. He made good progress over the winter,”

Day ends well for Weld and Smullen
He's a nice horse and had the form there. He did what we expected,. It looked a good renewal of the maiden and he did it nicely. We'll bring him back a furlong and go for the Tetrarch. He's a horse with plenty of pace and we'll see how he goes there.
